Emerging Europe looks well placed to weather a global economic slowdown in 2008. But there are significant risks to the outlook and it would be complacent to assume that the region can sail through a period of weaker global growth completely unaffected. We think the region will grow by a solid 6% this year but in the end much is likely to depend on the performance of the euro-zone.
