Regional performance diverges

Q3 GDP figures out so far show that growth has held up better in South East Asia than elsewhere in the region thanks to the strength of domestic demand. Nonetheless, economic growth remains below-trend almost everywhere. Given our non-consensus view that the global economy will slow next year, growth and inflation in Asia are likely to be lower than is generally anticipated. The upshot is that we expect further policy loosening ahead.
