Managing inflation and avoiding asset bubbles

Inflation remains high across much of the region and policy rates have moved up in India, Korea, Taiwan and Thailand in recent weeks. More policy tightening is on the way in Asia. However, concerns over capital inflows and the risk of inflating asset bubbles mean that policymakers are likely to supplement interest rate tightening with measures such as higher reserve requirements, capital controls and targeted steps to cool property markets.
