More of the same in 2019

Clear signs of a slowdown in China’s economy, coupled with falls in global equity markets, weighed on the prices of most energy and industrial commodity prices in December. In contrast, the prices of precious metals rose, boosted by safe-haven demand. We expect these trends to persist in 2019 as global economic growth slows.
