Nigeria stuck in stagflation, changing winds in Tanzania

The past week has brought further evidence that Nigeria is suffering from stagflation and we suspect it’s a ‘chronic condition’ arising from poor policy choices rather than an ‘acute disease’. In Tanzania, time will tell whether the change at the helm of the country’s political leadership will also bring about a shift in economic policy. The nation’s response to the coronavirus could hold some cues.
