Will Harvey lead to a surge in mortgage delinquencies?

Concerns that Hurricane Harvey will lead to a surge in mortgage delinquencies look over done. Houston has one of the highest levels of home equity in the country, which will persuade many mortgage borrowers that it is worthwhile keeping up payments. Forbearance assistance, disaster loans and the fact Texas is a recourse state will also help keep the increase in delinquencies to below 20,000.
