Homeownership & Vacancy Rates (Q4)

After reaching a 50-year low in mid-2016, the homeownership rate edged up for the second consecutive time in the final quarter. A lack of inventory is preventing a faster rebound in homeownership. Indeed, despite a slight rise in the latest figures, the rental and homeowner vacancy rates are close to 31 and 12-year lows respectively.
