The 3% m/m gain in existing home sales in February was better than expected. Even so, that rise just reversed January’s drop, and left sales essentially unchanged from their level a year ago. With the months’ supply of homes for sale so depressed, it is not surprising that sales are simply holding their ground. We doubt that situation will change over the next few months.
