Consumer Confidence (Nov.)

Japanese consumers continued to turn more pessimistic in November, with confidence undermined by worries about the labour market and a reduced willingness to buy durable goods. The latter will almost certainly deteriorate further in December following the scaling back of the eco-points scheme, which is another reason to expect GDP to contract in the fourth quarter.
