Asset markets have continued to perform strongly across the board, underpinned by exceptionally loose monetary policy and signs of economic growth. The favourable backdrop should persist over the next few quarters. However, many riskier asset classes are now looking stretched after their gains this year. And while interest rates are set to remain on hold in the major developed economies for the foresseable future, the recovery is likely to fade come the second half of 2010.
