Investors rediscover their appetite for risk (Aug 10)

Investors rediscovered their appetite for risk in July. Equities, corporate bonds and commodities sensitive to the economic cycle were all beneficiaries. Treasuries also held up well, however, amid concern that the US economy is shifting into a lower gear. But as expectations grew that the Fed might loosen monetary policy further – or at least not hike rates for a long time – the dollar continued to lose ground.
