The latest business surveys suggest that the recoveries in most advanced economies are gaining momentum and that the euro-zone may be edging its way out of recession. But these positive developments are being offset by continued weakness in the major emerging economies, notably China. In addition, the benefits of “Abenomics” may already be fading. The upshot is that global growth remains fairly subdued.
