Leah Fahy
Assistant Economist
- Bachelor’s degree, University and course: University of Oxford, Philosophy, Politics and Economics
- Capital Economics Graduate Scheme, applicable dates: September 2022 - Present
Why did you apply to join the Capital Economics graduate scheme?
I really enjoyed macroeconomics at university and was looking for a job where I could apply it practically. The Capital Economics grad scheme was particularly appealing because it involved four rotations, so I knew I’d get a chance both to learn about a range of economies and markets and as well as to figure out what I’m most interested in. The option to do a funded part-time masters was also a big pull.
What have you worked on while on the graduate scheme?
I’m almost six months in to my first rotation on the Global Economics team where I’ve gotten to contribute to a broad range of publications on topics like world trade, global inflation and shipping costs and the outlook for growth in DMs. I’ve also had the chance to take part in a podcast and a drop-in session and am currently working on some demographics research for our long-run service.
