ANZ Drop-In: Will Australian Q4 CPI data bring the RBA's easing cycle closer?

With the RBA striking a more dovish tone in recent weeks, speculation has grown rampant that the Bank could begin its easing cycle as soon as its next meeting in February. We still think there's a compelling case for the Bank to hold its fire until later in the year, but that assessment could well change following the release of Australia's Q4 CPI data on 29th January.

Join our ANZ and Markets economists for this special post-CPI briefing all about the outlook for Aussie inflation, interest rates and the wider economy.

During this 20-minute session, the team will be answering your questions about what to expect from Australia’s economy and its policymakers in 2025 as they address key issues, including:

  • What the latest price data say about Australia’s inflation outlook;
  • The future path of monetary policy and what it would take for the RBA to cut rates below neutral;
  • What this all means for Australian financial markets.
